Student Halloween Microfilms
Not to overstate the obvious, virtual school has so many challenges. I would be so bold that even more so for a Film Production class. Since the students can’t come on campus, they are extremely limited in equipment, no cameras, lighting, microphones, etc.
What they do have are their cell phones and their imagination.
The students have spent weeks learning how to write scripts and the use of camera shots, angles, and movements to help tell their stories.
This is their FIRST film assignment of the school year.
The students were given 3 weeks to complete their films and as they were basically on their own, they had to do everything by themselves. One week to plan and write, one week to film and one week to edit.
Below you will find the top 2 films from each class period.
UPDATE: Four of the films are running neck and neck so a second round of voting was posted. The front runners include (in no particular order): The Entity, Hungry, The Cereal Killer, and The Necklace. The winner will be announced shortly.
I am SO VERY PROUD of my students and what they accomplished with so little. I hope you enjoy these microfilms as much as I did. I want to also recognize the many fine films that were turned in after the deadline. Wish they could have made it in to the finals.
