Columbia College Hollywood visits

Joe Randeen/ News & Thoughts

Today we had a wonderful visit from Columbia College Hollywood, a private, nonprofit liberal arts college focused on film, television, new media, and digital arts. Students were told about the varied programs for those interested within the film, TV and advertising industries.

The college is quite impressive. Columbia College Hollywood alumni are part of a network of entertainment media professionals who have worked in all areas of the industry, on hit television shows such as CSILost, Extreme Makeover Home EditionLie To Me and The Wire, on blockbuster films such as Avatar, Tron, Slumdog Millionaire, Twilight: EclipseTransformers 3 and Red, and on special effects animated films such as MulanBeauty and the Beast and Aladdin.

Columbia College Hollywood is built on a foundation of hands-on teaching and learning. We believe the best way to prepare you for the opportunities that lie ahead is to foster a campus culture that reflects the real world. That’s why our programs encourage creative collaboration across disciplines.

From day one, you’ll multi-task as you try out and try on new roles and unfamiliar technologies involved in the making of creative media content. Our faculty of experienced, award-winning filmmakers, technicians, artists, and mentors use their expertise to engage you with innovative teaching methods in interactive classroom environments.
